P.G. Wodehouse
Nasce a Guildford (Surrey, Gran Bretagna) il 15 ottobre 1881. Comincia a pubblicare articoli e racconti brevi per bambini mentre lavora in una banca di Londra. E' assunto come redattore dal Globe nel 1904 e pubblica nel 1906 il suo primo racconto lungo per un pubblico adulto, il famoso "Love among the Chickens" (L'amore tra i polli), che riscriverà interamente nel 1921.Nel 1932 si trasferisce in Francia, ma durante la guerra è catturato dai tedeschi e nel 1940 viene deportato in Germania. Famoso in tutto il mondo, viene usato dai tedeschi per fini propagandistici. Perciò dopo la Liberazione viene accusato di collaborazionismo e catturato dalla polizia francese. Liberato, nel 1947 si trasferisce a New York (Stati Uniti) e nel 1955 ottiene la cittadinanza statunitense.
Muore a 94 anni nell'ospedale di Southampton (Gran Bretagna) nel febbraio del 1975.
